Mishna

The Zichru Seder Moed Mishna Program is organized into four levels.

Level 1 – Organization of the Perakim
The first step is getting an overall sense of the how the Masechta is structured. It’s a quick introduction to the number of Perakim and the major topics covered. This gives the talmid a broad mental map of the Masechta that serves as a framework to build upon.

Level 2 – The Major Mekoros in Chumash
The next step is getting clear and comfortable with the sources in the Chumash. We use the Chumash Map to help organize and remember which Parshios are the major sources of Halacha. The goal is that the pesukim should be easily accessible as well as understood within the greater context.

Level 3 – Overviews of the Major Topics
To avoid feeling lost in a Masechta, we present overviews of the major topics so one has a clear context for understanding the issues. The goal at this stage is to equip the learner with fluency in the basics so the learning is more productive and focused. I’m a big believer that the basics should be basic.

Level 4 – The Masechta Simanim Map
The first three steps are the prep work. The fourth step is done along with the learning and review of the Masechta. Every Mishna is given a Siman, a title to help retain the material and file it in the mind within the greater organization of the Masechta. By the end of Step 4, a talmid will have attained mastery of the Masechta with a comprehensive framework to review and build upon.

The flagship Seder in the Program currently underdevelopment is Seder Moed.
My goal is to launch Zichru Mishna by Shavuos of this year.
